Microbial Pesticides

Biological pesticides, originating from natural sources are tailored to target specific pests and usually operate through harmless or non-toxic mechanisms. These characteristics necessitate evaluation methods that recognise their distinct nature for ensuring health and environmental safety.

Termed as Microbial Pest Control Agents (MPCAs), these agents include a variety of organisms such as bacteria, algae, fungi, viruses and protozoa, as specified in 40 CFR 152.20. The regulatory framework encompasses all MPCAs utilized in pest management, embracing both naturally occurring types and those enhanced through natural selection or intentional genetic alterations.

JRF Global has collaborated with numerous sponsors to conduct hundreds of studies for testing biopesticides, adhering to OPPTS guidelines. The organization boasts multiple cell culture rooms and employs expert microbiologists with extensive experience completing these studies under GLP. These professionals are skilled in performing MPCA (Microbial Pest Control Agent) counts in various tissues, including blood, brain, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, the entire intestine, caecum, mesenteric lymph nodes and spleen.

JRF offers these studies in accordance with the various Global Regulatory guidelines.
